I want to tell you something I learned in years of sitting with women in therapy, and honestly from watching it happen with friends, with family, and in my own life too. And I say this gently, because if you have been through a breakup that felt like it came out of nowhere, this might sting before it helps.

For years I sat across from women in therapy, week after week, and listened to what they said about their relationships when their partner was nowhere in the room. No filter. No fear of starting a fight. Just the truth as they felt it.

I want to say something that is rarely seen on the internet these days. I genuinely believe that people who are dismissive avoidant and fearful avoidant can heal and learn how to have a secure and healthy relationship. And I know that might be hard to hear if you have been hurt by one. Avoidants are pretty much hated everywhere you look online right now, and honestly, I get it. The pain of loving someone avoidant can be devastating in a way that is hard to explain unless you have lived it.
